La Fuerza De Mi Hijo…

CigarEvents.com had the pleasure of attending The MFS Cigars Event held at Tobacco Plaza on Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Scott “Drac” Stanley created MFS Cigars in honor of his son, Matthew Frank. The MFS is a full bodied cigar, hand made in Nicaragua. It has an Ecuadoran Habano wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and a Nicaraguan filler. The MFS comes in three sizes, The Monkey, a 5×50, The Moose, a 5½x56 and The Bear, a 6×60. Scott’s line also offers the 3-13 cigar. The 3-13 is hand made in Honduras and is a medium bodied smoke. The wrapper is Costa Rican Maduro, the binder is Honduran and the filler is Nicaraguan. The 3-13 is also available in three sizes, The Robusto Grande, which is a 5×54, The Torpedo, which is a 5¼x52 and the Sixty, which is a 6×60. “La fuerza de mi hijo,” which translates to, “The strength of my son” is Scott’s motto and it is evident in the passion that he has for his cigar line (which was created in honor of his son). If you haven’t tried these cigars yet, you are missing out on a great smoke!

Once again, Tobacco Plaza hosted a wonderful event. The friendly and comfortable lounge was filled with many happy customers. Upon entering the shop, owners Marshall and Danny were there to greet everyone. In addition, their wives were there socializing with the women and customers who attended the event . It was a pleasure to see ladies enjoying cigars and supporting their husband’s passion for cigars – way to go girls! I am extremely grateful to all our loyal W. Curtis Draper friends and customers for their generosity in supporting both my personal and store supported charitable efforts. On Wednesday, September 14, 2011 Nat Sherman hosted El Senor Litto Gomez and La Flor Dominicana’s launching of the anticipated Casa De Tabaco. La Casa De Tabaco is a small replica of the tobacco curing barn used in the process of cigar making. Casa De Tabaco was Litto Gomez’s creation and after lots of computer simulations and the help of an engineer that was brought in, Casa De Tabaco, a working humidor filled with Air Bender Cigars, was created.

Before the event, four of us where invited by Michael Herklots and Bill Sherman for a question and answer session with Litto himself. We want to thank Michael Herklots and Bill Sherman for that unique opportunity to not only ask Litto questions regarding different aspects of his cigar, and Casa de Tabaco, but to really get to know what a great and special person Litto Gomez is. Michael Herklots, the Executive Director at Nat Sherman, has been with Nat for a couple of months and already has created quite a sensation around town and in all the social media outlets. In this short time, he has made quite a few great changes at Nat Sherman. If you have not been to Nat Sherman since his arrival, you must stop by, trust us you will be pleasantly surprised! Their walk-in humidor is packed with premium cigars and will make any cigar enthusiast think they are a kid in a candy store. Michael Herklots is extremely knowledgeable in the cigar industry and is a real classy guy.

After the question and answer session with Litto Gomez, we joined the event at the Johnson Club Room, where cigar lovers were awaiting his arrival. There was plenty of food and Atlantico Rum for everyone to enjoy. Litto Gomez, one of the classiest, well dressed and friendliest cigar celebrities, was there mingling with everyone. All of the guests wanted to take a picture with him – he is truly loved by every cigar enthusiast! If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him, you must go the next La Flor Dominicana Event and meet this great man.
