“As some of our early followers know, we’ve been working on the ‘Boutique Blend’ for quite some time. To be perfectly honest, I was quite reluctant to do a large RG format. I’m not a huge fan of following the trends and I knew if Rodrigo were going to release a large RG we had to do it our way, which means honoring tradition and using only the best tobaccos we can get. But how do you honor tradition in what is considered a trendy format (e.g. a 6×60)? And how do you pack so much rich tobacco into a large diameter cylinder and still get a cigar that will burn? It took time and some trial and error, but William Ventura was able to crack the code once again to come up with a blend that is so satisfying that it has become the favorite among the rollers on the factory floor of Tabacalera Ventura.
The goal all along of the Boutique Blend was to create a full body smoke while delivering complex flavor in a large ring gauge cigar. Contemporary, but never trendy. I think we nailed it…. if you’re in the Houston area then come out to one or both of the events and give it a shot. Let me know what you think!”

The event took place on Friday, July 22, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. George introduced his new “Boutique Blend” which featured the “G6″ – a 6×60 flavor filled cigar made entirely of Grade “A” tobaccos. RODRIGO “Handmade Ultra Premium” Cigars are manufactured in Tamboril, Dominican Republic and blended by cigar veteran William Ventura. George Rodriguez is very friendly and took the time to speak to all of the customers that evening. He answered any questions they had about his cigars and shared many personal stories about his journey into the cigar world. Mr. Rodriguez is a true gentleman with a true passion for the cigar industry. Ruben’s Smoke Stack is the exclusive retail partner for Rodrigo Cigars in Northern New Jersey. CigarEvents.com is not presently in the business of reviewing cigars, but we must say, it was a great smoke!
