Live, Laugh, Smoke Cigars!

Mauricio Cordoba, Vice President and General Manager at New York City’s exclusive Club Macanudo, never seizes to amaze. The club, located at 26 East 63rd Street (between Park Avenue and Madison Avenue), hosted it’s third Super Smoke on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Upon entering, one felt the “red carpet treatment” immediately. Mauricio was at the front to greet each and everyone of his guests with a warm smile and a friendly hand shake. Guests had the opportunity to have a photo taken, in front of the beautiful back-drop adorned with the Club’s logo, by the house photographer, John Perrone from Pageant Photographers. Upon arrival, guests were given a gift bag filled with a sampling of premium cigars, a cutter and a lighter.

The event, which took place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., was enjoyed by many humidor holders and special guests. Michael Sullivan from Cut and Dry Productions, LLC, who is currently producing a documentary about cigars and a tobacco farm in near-by Connecticut, showed a clip of the film and gave a brief summary.

Guests were offered an endless array of delicious hors d’oeuvres and a selection of fine Rums including, but not limited to, Bacardi, Pyrat, Zafra, and Zacapa. Mauricio always gives back to his guests. Every person at the Super Smoke received a raffle ticket which gave them a chance to win a variety of special prizes, including boxes of cigars, hats, serving trays, ashtrays, cigar carrying cases, a $150.00 gift card to Club Macanudo donated by an anonymous source referred to as “ardillitas (Squirrels in Spanish) and so much more!

Anthony Toliver, from Freedom Hospitality, one of the humidor holders and guest that evening, donated three prizes to be raffled off to the employees of the club. The first winner, Alam, received a $50.00 gift card. The second winner, Gabriella, received a $150.00 spa treatment and the grand prize of a weekend getaway at a luxury hotel in New York City, valued at $700.00, was won by Malek. Congratulations to the winners, every employee in Club Macanudo deserves that and so much more! They are all so courteous, friendly and accommodating.

Mauricio Cordoba’s energy and hospitality are endless. His creative mind and brilliant ideas continue to provide magnificent events and gatherings at Club Macanudo, which has become a second “home” to all who enter. With it’s old-world charm, this Club stands out above the rest. There are many more functions already in the works.
